The Best Firm to Work For
For the 6th year in a row, MDG has received the Zweig Group award for Best Firms to Work For, which honors outstanding workplaces at AEC firms across the US and Canada. The ranking is based on workplace practices, employee benefits, employee retention rates, and more. Employees are surveyed to give honest and open feedback.
We are incredibly proud to have been ranked #1 in the 1-49 employee size category, and #3 overall in Civil Engineering. This was our first time taking the top position, and we are so grateful for the team and the internal culture that earned us this award. Creating a workplace where people can feel valued, be efficient in their roles, and be part of a family doesn’t happen over night. The leadership at MDG works hard every day to ensure that the culture they’ve created stays balanced because they understand that we are more than just an engineering firm. We are a family.
The people here are all genuine, they’re caring, they truly care about their work and the other people here. That’s due to our leaders, Rob and Keri, because that’s the example that they set for leadership. They are loving, caring, genuine people. How they are here is how they are all the time, and to me that’s important that they present that for their employees so that we can follow that example.

Celebrating Continuous Growth and an Award-Winning Website Design
This year, for our 16th year in business, we were also ranked #57 for the Hot Firm awards. This award recognizes the top 100 fastest-growing AEC firms in the US and Canada. Having been hit with the recession soon after opening our doors, it’s been a bumpy road. Through building an incredible team and continuously pushing forward we have been able to grow into the thriving firm we have today.
To better represent the company we have grown to become, last year our in-house marketing and design team took on the task of rebuilding our website. Behind the site is years of experience at MDG, watching projects grow, living the culture, and truly understanding what makes our company special. By creating a website that was visually pleasing, highly functional, and a better representation who we are, we were able to create a communication tool that will greatly aid in our continued growth. We entered the redesigned website for a Marketing Excellence Award, and took home the #2 spot!
With this being our first year entering for a Marketing Excellence award, we couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. These awards recognize outstanding, results-driven marketing in the AEC industry. Award entries were judged by a team of marketing professionals and evaluated based upon overall creativity, messaging, results achieved by the campaign, and level of design. Our team continues to focus on the website as our company continues to grow.
We have a great group of people who enjoy coming to work and love what we do. And that builds for a great atmosphere to work in, it builds great comradery throughout the staff and it really helps us to be good and great at what we do.
