Project Civil Engineer (EI) – Land Development

Matthews Design Group (MDG) is actively seeking a Land Development Engineer for immediate employment. From entry level to senior engineer, we are seeking a diverse group of land development engineers to work together on a team with the current friendly and highly qualified staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with site design and permitting, storm water calculations and design, utility construction and design, and project production support
  • Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names, line and character styles, drawings and window names, and file names for sheet layout
  • Be proficient in preparing high-quality, innovative, and accurate plan drawings in Civil 3D
  • Effectively monitor and manage budgeted hours and schedule deadlines of multiple projects at the same time to keep tasks profitable and meet project schedules
  • Inform project manager(s) and client managers of progress on assigned projects and proactively communicate design concerns

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Highly organized
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Detail oriented
  • Must work well on teams
  • Must be solution oriented
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
  • Land development permitting required

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of Civil Engineering experience
  • Experience with ICPR, WaterCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proven understanding of stormwater, utility design, and land development
  • Proven understanding of permitting process, codes, and criteria
  • Experience preparing construction plans and reports
  • Experience in Florida preferred
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • Authorized to work in the United States
