Matthews | DCCM is growing and is looking to hire a full-time Transportation Engineer for our Jacksonville or St. Augustine office. This position will collaborate with team members to provide transportation engineering support for a wide variety of projects including, but not limited to: new roadway construction, existing roadway widening, permitting, intersection design, traffic studies, and sidewalk/trails. Projects will vary between private and public work, which will require great communication skills with our clients, FDOT staff, and local municipalities.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Required)
- 2+ years of transportation engineering experience
- EIT or PE license
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly desirable
- FDOT experience is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and employees at all levels of an organization
- Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic planning skills with attention to detail
- High quality of work in a pressure environment with multiple projects occurring simultaneously
Responsibilities:
- Perform design calculations (including, but not limited to: horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, turn lane analysis, and drainage spread/pipe capacity)
- Assist and direct junior engineers and CAD designers with plans production (Roadway Plans/Profiles, Typical Sections, Signing and Striping, Grading and Drainage, MOT, Construction Details, Utilities, Cross Sections)
- Coordination with other internal disciplines and teams
- Quantity and Takeoff Calculations
- Quality Control: Ensure that projects follow Matthews | DCCM company standards as well as regulatory requirements by completing technical reviews
- Effectively monitor and manage hours of multiple projects at the same time to meet project schedules and budgets
- Inform project manager(s) and client managers of progress on assigned projects and communicate design concerns
- Have excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, along with a strong work ethic and sense of personal accountability
- Strong independent worker as well as being able to work cohesively in a team environment and have good verbal, written, and graphical communication skills

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
