Highlands Borrow Pit
Matthews Design Group (MDG) completed engineering and site design for three borrow pits. The project site consists of 1,784 acres and is located in western Clay County south of CR 218 and west of Louie Carter Road. The borrow pits are buffered from the adjacent county road traffic by a 150-foot buffer of preserved trees. The borrow pit design also included a recharge ditch system which recharges the groundwater back into the surficial aquifer which ensures that no negative impacts to the groundwater of adjacent properties occur.
