Port Buena Vista

East Palatka, Florida

Matthews | DCCM provided engineering services for the lift station design at the end of Margarita Road in the Port Buena Vista (PBV) development in East Palatka. Our team successfully decommissioned the PBV Waste Water Treatment Facility and designed and permitted the force main connecting the new lift station to the existing county- owned facility, which spanned State Road 207 and various county roads.

Aligned with the FEMA HMGP application process, our scope included surveying, design, construction plans, permitting with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), active participation in meetings, and vigilant oversight during construction. Our team collaborated with Jackson Geotechnical Engineering for Geotechnical Engineering. Together, we conducted a geotechnical exploration at the proposed lift station location, analyzing subsurface conditions through field exploration and laboratory tests. The results, conveyed in a detailed report, were integrated into the final construction documents.
